An Evening of Interior Design and Inspiration

Our Interior Design Evenings in Hamilton and Mt Maunganui drew an incredible turnout, filling our showrooms with inspiration and creative energy.

We were thrilled to welcome such skilled speakers, who shared their expertise on the latest trends and practical interior design tips. It was inspiring to see attendees connecting with industry experts and sparking creativity within our showrooms. Hearing their insights was a privilege, and we are truly grateful for the time and knowledge they shared with everyone.

We began the evening with Karen Powers, Group Design Services Manager, who shared key trends shaping interiors today – from sustainability and the integration of smart technology. However, Karen’s biggest message is that the truest trend of all is creating a space that reflects you. Your home should showcase your personal style and personality, from displaying your treasures, to choosing colours you truly love to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

We then heard from Amy and Amanda of David Shaw, whose passion for their brand’s heritage and commitment to sustainable craftsmanship was truly inspiring. They shared their insights into the art of innovative design for effortless living. Each piece of their furniture is designed and built to last, offering years of beautiful comfort.

As Dan Moir from James Dunlop shared during the event, there is a long-standing partnership between their brand and McKenzie & Willis. With fabrics that are innovative and beautiful, for both upholstery and drapery, there is something for every home, whether it needs to be easy clean, stand up to UV or just look amazing at the windows.

Our Home Linens Buyer, Katrina Millar, shared the truest tips on how your bedroom should feel like a retreat- a space of calm, quiet, luxury and renewal. She emphasised the importance of investing in quality bedding, and when shopping, not to rush the process. Take your time, feel the fabrics and ask questions to find the right fit for your sleep. Always prioritise comfort and materials that support your health and wellbeing.

It was a pleasure to host so many inspired individuals in-store, and trust that those who attended left feeling inspired to have some fun within their own homes.
