Congratulations to Steve Brown Builders on receiving the McKenzie & Willis Interior Design Award at the Canterbury Registered Master Builders House of the Year Awards!

The Registered Master Builders House of the Year Awards is an annual competition that celebrates building excellence across New Zealand. McKenzie & Willis has proudly supported this event for many years, sponsoring the Interior Design Award to celebrate homes that showcase exceptional interior design. This year’s winning project by Steve Brown Builders exemplifies these values beautifully.

Modern hillside house with large glass windows, illuminated interior, outdoor pool, and patio, surrounded by lush greenery at dusk.

Modern house exterior with stone and wood siding, large windows, and a potted plant by the entrance. Blue sky and clouds in the background.

Anchored in the hills of Redcliffs, this award-winning clifftop home was designed to sit in harmony with its coastal surroundings. Embracing natural materials, energy efficiency, and effortless indoor-outdoor living, the home embodies thoughtful, future-focused design.

Furnished with interiors that reflect the spirit of the architecture, the design showcases a cohesive vision carried beautifully throughout the home. Clean architectural lines, a warm, muted palette, and rich textural layering come together to create a refined and timeless atmosphere. Materials such as timber, stone, concrete, and metal are used in harmony, complementing the surrounding coastal landscape.

In addition to receiving the Regional Interior Design Award, this home also took out the title of Supreme House of the Year, alongside multiple other category wins. Here at McKenzie & Willis, we were incredibly impressed by the calibre of entries and extend our warmest congratulations to all the winners who were recognised on the night. We’re proud to support projects that reflect thoughtful, beautifully executed design—values that align with our own here at McKenzie & Willis.
