Fifty Years in the Making
Devon was born in the summer of 1976, when two Kiwi mates, Bruce Barnes and Howard Sneddon, set out crafting wooden furniture in an old tin shed. Their goal was a simple one: to make the best outdoor furniture money could buy. Nearly fifty years on, that ambition still runs through everything Devon makes. Today the brand continues under Matthias Strickett, who returned Devon to its Auckland roots in 2019, carrying forward a love of the outdoors, an eye for design and a deep respect for the craft. Through it all, Devon has stayed true to what it has always been about: timeless design, enduring materials and genuine craftsmanship, proven in the New Zealand environment for half a century.
