Anna’s Interior Design Project
Anna’s client first came into the store with architectural plans for a new build, already envisioning a wall of sheer curtains to soften the interior and provide protection from heat and glare. At just over 12 metres wide, this was the largest set of doors Anna had furnished, a scale that presented a rewarding design challenge.
The fabric chosen was James Dunlop Cavalier sheer, selected for its elegant drape and ability to gently filter sunlight. An inverted pleat was specified, with the track fixed directly to the ceiling, creating a refined look with generous volume and a sense of calm continuity.
The wide-width sheer is predominantly woven in polyester, offering the look and handle of fine linen while standing up to New Zealand’s environmental conditions. This approach was carried through to the bedrooms with subtly varied sheer textures on double tracks, and finished with Santa Fe shutters in the bathrooms.
Bathrooms are often overlooked when windows are frosted, but shutters add a layer of detail that feels quietly luxurious. Finished in fresh white, they reflect light beautifully while providing privacy and insulation. Made from waterproof materials with stainless steel hinges, they are well suited to wet areas and elevate the space in a way that feels both practical and considered.
