Spring is here, and with it comes a refreshing shift in interiors—think light, airy, and grounded in nature.

Our Interior Designer, Renee, worked closely with her client to reimagine their home, embracing spring interior design trends while staying true to timeless design principles. She shares the aspects of this home that helped embrace spring style while creating a space that feels both comfortable and inviting.

Colour Palette

Spring palettes are versatile — from bold pops of yellow, pink, or orange to subtle nods like sage green and earthy tones. Textures also play a key role — linen, jute, and wool add depth and a tactile quality that evokes spring’s natural charm. For this project, Renee leaned into soft sage tones, inspired by the season and the client’s love of green and linen hues.

A Standout Piece

The stunning glossed terracotta brick fireplace was a focal point, which became a visual anchor and a springboard for the colour story. The Linear Sofa from Belle Interiors Collection struck the perfect balance between contemporary and classic. With the walnut-toned Belle Interiors Collection Journal coffee table complementing the fireplace beautifully, while accessories like the Ferm Living Arum lamp added a sculptural edge to quiet corners.

Seasonal Textiles

With minimal pattern planned, Renee sought a textile that would make a quiet statement. While flicking through the swatches alongside the client, they discovered Morris & Co’s Acorn fabric, and the client immediately said, “That’s the one.” The soft and muted yet intricate design brought the outdoors in with classic elegance. This fabric covered the Kovacs Spyder Armchair, which perfectly complimented the Silver Mosaic wallpaper by Zoffany in the bedroom. These elements infused the home with a fresh, spring feel where it really started to come together.

Sheer Curtains

In the bedroom, Renee used James Dunlop’s soft sheer fabric to create a breezy, light-filled atmosphere. A linen Roman blind in sage added texture and practicality, updating the existing Curtains & Blinds to reflect the seasonal shift. The interplay of sheer and solid fabrics allowed light to filter in gently, creating a warm, dappled effect.

Accessories

Organic shapes and delicate florals completed each space. Renee advises taking inspiration from nature and surrounding elements, fill vases with branches, bunny tails, or oversized leaves to add sculptural interest and connect the interiors to the garden beyond the windows. These natural accents are a simple yet powerful way to bring spring indoors.

Working with our interior designers, like Renee, is always a collaborative process. We take the time to understand how clients live: their daily routines, family dynamics, and even their pets, ensuring every design is as functional as it is beautiful. In this case, Renee’s client envisioned a timeless cottage aesthetic with contemporary touches to suit her concrete bungalow. Together, they created a space that feels personal, seasonal, and comforting.
